He took and he can give back, seven promises God makes to th

At that time the heads of the Levites came to Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the tribes of Israel at Shiloh in the land of Canaan and said to them, “The LORD commanded through Moses to give us cities to live in, with their pasturelands for our livestock.” So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities with their pasturelands from their inheritance, as the LORD had commanded.

- Ezekiel Miles

Ezekiel 11:17 You shall say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from the peoples, and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’ 18 They shall come there, and I will remove all their abominations and their disgusting things from it. 19 I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them; I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20 and make them walk in my statutes, and they shall be careful to observe my laws. They shall be my people, and I will be their God.

From Ezekiel 1 to 11, all Ezekiel saw were God’s severe punishments, and the wounds and desolations after sin. Ezekiel 11 records: “While Ezekiel was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then Ezekiel fell on his face and cried out with a loud voice, “Ah, Lord God, are you going to utterly destroy all the remnant of Israel?” (Ezekiel 11:13)

In response to Ezekiel's prayer, God clearly answered:

17 You shall say, 'Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from the peoples, and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. '18 They shall come there, and I will remove from it all their abominations and their disgusting things. 19 I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20 so that they may walk in my statutes, and they shall be careful to observe my laws. They shall be my people, and I will be their God.

God's declaration is a response to Ezekiel's concern, a promise to God's people, and an exposition of spiritual laws. In other words, this promise is not only valid for the Jews, but also for all God's people.

Sometimes, we always make wrong decisions due to ignorance, and corrupt our morals due to sin, which always brings losses to our lives. Jesus once said, "The one who believes in me will do the works that I do also; and greater works than these will he do" (John 14:12). He also promised us, "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). But in real life, we do not fully live out the infinite grace promised by God, nor do we necessarily live a more abundant life. There is no doubt that sin and ignorance will bring losses to life and lay the roots of disaster for life. But we can never transcend the limitations of human nature, and no one can guarantee that they can overcome the corruption of sin every day of their lives. The wise Solomon once said, "There is no one who does not sin (1 Kings 8:46; 2 Chronicles 6:36)" Sin brings damage. But God's salvation and God's forgiveness bring healing and revival. As God promised to Ezekiel:

First, scatter and gather

God scattered the sinning people in judgment and drove them away from their homes. When He forgave them, He gathered them back to their homeland from the land of wandering;

Second, take away and return

God took away the land that was once given to them in punishment, and also returned the land that was taken away on the day of forgiveness;

Third, filth is cleansed

Israel's morality was corrupted and their hearts were polluted because of idolatry, but now God wants to remove the idols from their hearts and land;

Fourth, disputes can unite

They were once divided because of their selfish desires. Israel was divided into two countries, north and south, and there were disputes and contradictions between nations, tribes, and families. But on the day of God's forgiveness, He can give them a united heart again;

Fifth, abandon and accept

God once abandoned his people because of their rebellion and took back his Holy Spirit, but now God will give them a new spirit to repair the broken relationship.

Sixth, a heart of stone for a heart of flesh

When Judah decided to betray God, God allowed them to do evil, and when God no longer gave them a heart of repentance, their hearts became as hard as stone. But on the day of God's restoration, He gave them a new heart, replacing their hard hearts of stone with a heart of flesh. They were able to turn from rebellion to obedience, from evil ways to obedience to God's laws, and to carefully observe and follow God's ordinances.

Seventh, rupture and reconciliation

When Israel chose to betray, the relationship between God and man was persecuted, and on the day of forgiveness, God once again restored the relationship with His people. God said, "They shall be my people, and I will be their God."

Even as God declared His punishment on His people, He still gave them seven promises of salvation. This promise was not only for Judah in Ezekiel's time, but also for us, God's people. Whether it is a broken relationship, a tortured and weakened body, lost wealth, or a drained inspiration. In His salvation, everything can be restored. As the prophet Isaiah declared, "The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4).

He can make up for what you have lost
He can restore what he has taken away,
He can heal what he has wounded,
He can plant what he has sown.
When we turn to God, it means that revival and salvation will begin.
Dear Father God:
My inspiration is so dry,
My knowledge is so poor,
I feel that I have lost the ability to learn,
I can't find the way to knowledge and wisdom.
Selfish desires consume my time again and again,
Bad habits corrupt my virtues bit by bit,
My heart is as weak as water,
My ambitions are gone with the wind.
Lord!
Please save my heart,
Make the strength of my heart strong.
Please save my thoughts and actions,
Make my thoughts, words and deeds
Elegant and decent,
Glory to the Lord.
Give me the strength to surpass myself,
Give me the ability to surpass myself,
Lead me to constantly break through and renew,
Guide me to soar under the shadow of Your wings.
In the name of Jesus Christ I pray!
Amen!
